Synopsis
Imagine hosting dinner for a famous celebrity. It could be Ellen, Taylor Swift, or even Oprah Winfrey. Now imagine them slipping on a patch of ice outside the house, injuring their hip, forcing them to spend a month at your house. This is the fate of famous radioman, Sheridan Whiteside, who slips outside the house of the well-to-do factory owner, Ernest Stanley and his family. Chaos ensues when Whiteside is confined to the Stanley's house until he recovers, driving his hosts absolutely mad and meddling in everyone's business. With the help of his faithful secretary, Maggie, Whiteside deals with the scatterbrained town physician, his frantic nurse, and Mr. Stanley's eccentric sister Harriet. New surprises and bizarre events appear at every corner- from a box of penguins to a life size sarcophagus- as this colorful cast of characters attempts to navigate the web of lies, blackmail and confusion that grows throughout the course of the plan. If you're planning to have Ellen over anytime soon, it would be wise to come see The Man Who Came to Dinner to see exactly what or what not to do!
